Acoustical Sealant is a non-flammable / water based sealant specifically designed for the reduction of sound transmission and drafts in all types of wall, floor and ceiling assemblies. GG Acoustical Sealant remains flexible and adheres firmly to wood, metal studs, concrete, gypsum board and most other building materials. Field tested and field proven, Acoustical Sealant is recognized by drywall contractors and architects as an effective means of sealing sound leaks.

Installation
Installation:
Installation of Acoustical Sealant is optimal when temperatures are above 55 ºF (13 ºC). Provide adequate ventilation to carry off excess moisture. Surface to be sealed must be clean, dry, and free of dust.
Use a standard contractor size caulking gun. Apply 1/4” gap, or else there will be shrink. Sealants are generally optimized for larger gap (inflexible), or for smaller gaps (flexible). Ours is flexible, so 1/4” is the max gap.
Apply continuous beads of sealant around all openings formed for outlets, lights, etc.
